I repost this review annually to warn consumers about Westlake Financial Services. Although my incident occurred in 2019, it highlights a level of incompetence and negligence that everyone should be aware of.

The Short Version: Westlake repossessed my car despite having absolutely no legal right to it.

I held a clean title and was financed through a local credit union, not Westlake.

The Details: I purchased a vehicle from a dealership that held a clean title. I financed it through my own credit union and was 100% up to date on payments. Westlake had zero connection to this car or my loan. Yet, due to their atrocious record-keeping, they ordered a repossession on a car they did not own.

I woke up to find my car gone.

I called the police to report it stolen, only to be told it had been repossessed by Westlake. When I called Westlake to correct their mistake, their "customer service" was hostile and unhelpful. They refused to believe me and repeatedly hung up on me when I asked for help.

I lost a day of work and had to burn PTO to fix their mistake.

The only reason I got my car back was because a third-party repossession agent finally listened to me and my credit union, realized Westlake was in the wrong, and released the vehicle.

If you are considering using Westlake, run away. It does not matter if you have bad creditno one deserves to deal with a company this shady.

User's recommendation: Run Away.

Preferred solution: Apology.

Location: Saint George, Utah

Anybody crying and whining about "predatory lender" trash is typically a serial deadbeat who just can't stand the lender REQUIRES and the serial deadbeat AGREED to make on time payments and they just can't stand the consequences THEY CAUSED by being a serial deadbeat!

Clearly you don’t have reading comprehension because if you did you would see the deadbeat company you work for had no legal right to the car. They did not have a lien on the car.

The car was financed through a local credit union and not your trash company.

Your customer service is even more trash. The only reason I got my car back without having to sue your trash company was because the repo company you used realized their mistake and gave me my car back and forced your trash company to realize their mistake.
