Didn't honor what there employee advice me of

This worst loan company in the world to get a loan, call Westlake on yesterday, to get the amount for my vehicle been repo, the employee agreement that would 2500 dollar to get my release and it includes all the fees, I advise employee that, I would call back today or tomorrow which call I the next day and got a different Rep, I advise her/him to have the Rep I was dealing with to go they are finish with call never got a call back, so when I call back, I explained to the Rep what was advise of me to do, and the Rep agreed that I would pay the 2500 to get my car release and it include all the fees and I said ok cool, but Rep didn't advise me when call back the next day other fees, he advise me that the fees are included in the 2500, so I spoke with a supervisor, who listen to the call and did fact advise me his employee did in fact advise those fees are included in the 2500, the said we can setup a payment plan where I would pay 300 dollar a month for the next 5 months and they would send me my title, so the supervisor didn't want honor what his employee said to at all and there is a recording on the whole conversation between me and his employee on yesterday, now my family of six is without transportation because the supervisor didn't want to honor what his employee advise me of, I advise the supervisor didn't work for your company at all and I advise the supervisor that his employee should have got a approval first, in phone conversation the employee didn't tell me at all that he need a approval for what he agreed on which is that I would pay the 2500 and the rest in payments and would release my title after the 5 months, the Westlake financial services has no integrity at all and didn't stand behind what they say, I had to take the down fall for what there employee to me and didn't say me to, ensure that I could get my car back, I do believe I will share this with the world a family of 6 can't get there car back base off what the employee didn't say me and the supervisor is the worst ever because he didn't even want honor what his employee advise me of, he didn't even want to try and help me at all or speak with someone him at all

User's recommendation: I would never recommended Westlake financial to anyone at all

You don't even know the difference between "THEIR" and "THERE". You "write" with run-on sentenced with no punctuation.

Find a gradeschoor to write for you. As usual, this is nothing more than the whining of still another SERIAL DEADBEAT who just can't stand the consequences THEY CAUSED by not paying on time! Of course, this is why you were placed with this sub-prime deadbeat lender because YOU have a track record of not paying YOUR bills on time. This lender takes a chance on you and what happens?

YOU DO IT TO THEM AS WELL! Very, very typical SERIAL DEADBEAT MENTALITY Boo hoo!

Guest

", I had to take the down fall for" YOU took the fall because YOU are a serial deadbeat who got his car reposed. Had you handled your business (no one cares why) you would not be in this spot.

Predatory lending at its finest

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I used this lending service in a pinch to buy a used car. This service lacks many of the perks to being an online lending bank, specifically for the purposes of making you pay additional fees.

Email notifications either come late, or day of to increase the chances of a late fee. Free payment options are extremely limited, other options are available through third party payments for a fee. Paying off the loan early only happens through third party payment options, for a fee. Of course you can send in a check, and by the time they cash it to pay of the loan, you guessed it, accrued interest and a fee.

Customer service is terrible.

The selection system on their call in help line is terrible. Email help is terrible, and they offer no actual help. Do you need your title number to register your car? Can only be done through a DMV for (surprise) a fee.

And through fax, no less. What year is this, 1990?

The whole experience is hand crafted to make you jump through hoops in order to rack up a few extra fees. Predatory lending at it's finest.

Cons:
  • Everything else is terrible

User's recommendation: Find a better bank

Where does it say they are a bank???

"Predatory lender" is the phrase you sorry serial deadbeats use when you just can't stand the CONSEQUENCES YOU CAUSE by paying late. You come here to tell the world you don't even have the COMMON SENSE to READ what you sign BEFORE you sign!

Thats where the due date is listed.

If you don't like the late fees and extra interest YOU cause by paying late, then PAY ON TIME like you agreed to do! These are very simple concepts but since your brain power is obviously nil, then get a grade schooler to explain it to you, using pictures.

Why are you so nasty in your responses? Though you never have joined this site with an account name, you are always recognizable in your hateful responses.

You made a lot of assumptions about the OP, when in reality you know nothing about him! You sound like you hate your life.

" in a pinch" Typical Serial Deadbeat. Your credit is a nightmare and is the reason you had to get an expensive loan from a joke like this.

Now, you're upset because a business won't hold your hand and let you know what your due date is. The due date that you agreed to.

They probably do make money on idiots like you who act like a child. You will never get a loan at a real bank and will be stuck with places like this.

Oh no, not the "you must work for them" trope. We see this when broke and dusty losers can't handle the truth about their foolishness.

The fact that you HAVE TO pay this company money for a junk vehicle because of poor credit, wouldn't that make you a C U C K? Please do not re pr duce loser...

Illegal shady business practices

If you're considering financing with Westlake Financial — run the other way.Yes, I had some late payments — mostly during COVID. After that, the only way I could get a live person on the phone was to miss a payment.

Their listed number (888-739-****) loops endlessly through an automated system. If we have a legally binding loan agreement, why can't I speak to a human when issues arise? For over two years, I’ve asked why I’ve paid over $5,000 more in interest than outlined in my contract. No one has provided a straight answer. I’ve paid $33,088.98 so far on a loan for $18,995.86, with a total contract amount of $33,752.16.

Somehow, they say I still owe $7,991. Their reps just give pre-written responses that don’t even address the questions. Not one person has explained where that balance came from. Then came the repossession. My past due was $700, and I had just made a payment under their reinstatement plan.

I had no idea my car was in danger — I left my laptop and personal items in the vehicle. Within 48 hours, they shipped the car 3 hours away to an Adesa location, even though one is just 15 minutes from me. After paying $860 to recover it, the car had damage, missing plates, mismatched tires, and over 1,000 miles added to it. Westlake wouldn’t acknowledge any of it.Worse — I found out 10 months later that they removed my name from the vehicle title without notifying me.

I had been driving illegally and paying insurance on a car I didn’t technically own. When I tried to renew my registration, I was denied. My insurance company told me none of my coverage was valid. Reaching Westlake for help was impossible.

Emails were ignored, tickets closed with irrelevant info, and phone calls went in circles — until I finally got a rep's personal number through the dealership. Even then, it took three more months of going back and forth with false information before they fixed the title issue.I was paying for a car I couldn’t legally drive, using rideshare to get my kids around, and wasting hours every week trying to get help from a company that wouldn’t respond. And through it all, Westlake acted like they didn’t owe me a single explanation. To top it off, they offered a so-called “mature payment plan” to settle the remaining balance — no interest, they say, but it includes a $4 per day charge that eats up 25% of each payment and adds another two years to my loan.Westlake Financial is not just unprofessional — they’re dangerous. They play games with your loan, communication, and legal rights.

You are expected to pay, but don’t expect answers, help, or fairness in return.I have the receipts — emails, phone records, tickets, BMV and insurance statements.

If I’m held accountable for my payments, they should be accountable for their actions.Stay far away. There are plenty of lenders out there — choose one that respects you as a customer and as a person.

OMG yes I had late payments - sorry skipper my life did not turn out as perfect as yours and you never fail. Someone should really finish nailing your sainthood to the cross ( rolls eyes ) My missed payments were during Covid.

Any late payments thereafter were prompted by the fact that this is the only way to get a live agent to return your inquiry. Otherwise, their only number looped to automated entries only. That is where the sublime lender starts. If we have a legally binding contract, then I should be able to speak to a live agent to resolve any issues.

When I ask a question regarding my loan/charges I was never given a straight answer. Hence, I will make my payment when I want a live agent to answer me. MUTUAL relationship. I have been asking for over 2 years why I have paid $5000 over into my interest billed than on my contract, and no one in the company can provide an answer.

Mr. Anonymous with the short d, with all your wisdom a few late payment do not amount to an $8000 discrepancy. Speak when spoken to and know all facts when answering. When they repo'd my car - my past due was $700 and I had just made my 1st payment on the get caught plan.

If I thought that my car could possibly be repossessed, then I would not have kept any personal valuables in the car. Which I did - my security tape shows me putting my laptop and Nike bag in the car. Neither were recovered. Within 48 hours of them taking possession, they had shipped it 3 hours away to Adesa, even though there was an Adesa 15 minutes away.

Intentionally, to try to prevent pick up. After paying $860 for a transport company to drive 3 hours away to pick up my car. Because you can only pickup Fridays between 7am and 10am and I work. The license plate had been removed/missing, my new set of tires had 2 misfits, there was 3 holes punched in on my dashboard, my weatherproof carmats were gone, and there was about 1100 miles added since an oil change the day before.

WESTLAKE will not address anything, as I had just made a payment on their payment plan. Sept 2022 to July 2023 - I drive my car, pay the payments/insurance. Now it is time to renew my plates. BMV wont renew because my name was removed from the vehicle 10 months earlier.

Technically, I had been driving all year with an illegal vehicle. NOT ONCE notified by Westlake that this was done. I called my insurance company, all the payments I had made to them would not have covered the vehicle as it was not in my name - $1380. I tried calling Westlake, but stuck in the automatic loop.

I emailed, they opened ticket, responded with information that did not pertain to what I needed and closed the ticket. This went on for 3 weeks. I finally called the dealership that I bought the car from - a new Finance guy gave me his Westlake rep’s personal cell #. Then I was able to get a live agent on the phone.

It then took over 2 more months are going back and forth. Westlake telling me that my BMV needs to do this and that, my BMV laughing because it was not what was needed. My BMV talked to Westlake and apologized to me that I had to deal with such ignorance. The BMV simply needed them to add my name back to the title and Westlake played games like they did not understand how to be compliant with documentation.

If I am held accountable for my actions, then as a company they should be as well. SUBLIME comes in when it takes me 3 months for someone at Westlake to realize the BMV needs you to add my name back to the title really means exactly that. Yes, I have all the emails/tickets/phone records to show. I spent countless hours on the phone and online trying to resolve.

3 months of paying for a car that I could not drive - 3 months of grocery delivery, doordash and uber to feed my kids and get them where they needed all while walking past a car I was paying for that I could not drive. AGAIN - Westlake does not want to address any of that. BUT let the tables be turned. THAT is where SUBLIME comes in - give me your money but do not ask any questions or expect us to fulfill our legal agreement.

Because legally, I am positive they are in violation of multiple consumer laws given the lack of action they have taken to resolve any issues. Plus they wait for you to make a payment to add the accrue interest charge. I make a $1200 payment, it all goes to an interest accrual on the same day for the same amount. Nothing I overpaid went to principal to knock it down - my interest accrued amount just changed to match the payment.

SUBLIME means when I call and the company representative escalates an issue. I should not receive an email the next day like I did not reach out and you aren’t supposed to be looking into something. The total amount on my contract was $33752.16 - Amt financed $18995.86 & Finance charge of $14756.30 To date I have paid $33088.98 - $11699.29 toward principal / $20790.83 towards interest / $518.86 other feesWestlake says I still owe $7991Which is almost an $8000 additional I am expected to pay, but no one at Westlake will answer why without a pre-printed rebuttal that does not even cover my question. They offered me a mature payment plan to pay this balance off, which does not have an interest rate BUT does have a $4/per day charge, which will take 25% of this mature payment thus extending the time I pay for this vehicle by 2 years.

YET no one at WESTLAKE has to answer why? That is SUBLIME, shady business. A loanshark will have a conversation with their client. Your baby momma has to answer the question in court.

But Westlake? Nah they think they are above being touched.

That should tell you all you need to know about Westlake. BEWARE and stay far away!

Original review Sep 01, 2023
I wish I would have read the reviews before signing anything with Westlake. A federal/government agency needs to do a deep dive into this companies practices.

All these 5 star bought or employee made up reviews are blatantly obvious because your negative reviews are pretty consistent with your bullying of customers. But do not worry, they will respond to this like they care.
1. The prerecording states that the call will be recorded for "security purposes" - but they immediately hang up if they think you are recording as well. They want the ability to manipulate - because clearly it was stated the call was being recorded.

It does not state by which party? So, if you would like to hear how Westlake's cs reps actually speak to a customer of 4 years - please reach out.
2. When calling customer service to ask a question, you are never given a straight answer. I have several calls where I speak about a previous call made that was noted on my account with 2 or more cs rep's yet when it reached the "manager" that previous call line/note disappeared and I was told the previous employees were mistaken - they had all lied about seeing a phone call on a date.

The say rude things to you. They hang up on you. They DO NOT KNOW customer service unless waiting for your debit card. 3.

My issues? I called 7/28 and made payment arrangements - later that day I made my payment as arranged online. On 8/10, Westlake repossessed my car with $700 being the amount past due (my car payment is $475) on 8/11 and 8/18 they were to take the balance of $700 out of my account. When I called them, the amount to release my car was $1400 - even though my screenshot from the day had $700 past due.

I told them I would have to wait until I got paid at the end of the month to pay. On 8/29 when I called to pay, they amount was almost $1900, even though I was told there was no daily charge. Whatever, it was paid and my vehicle released. This is when I called, only to learn that on:
8/17, one week after they repossessed my car for being "60 days passed due" (even thought they took my payment 10 days earlier) my car was cleaned out of all my "personal" belongings, license plate removed, and shipped 3 hours away to an auction.

NOT once was I told this information as they only wanted the money. NOT once was I told my car could be auctioned within 24-48 hours. Your calls are recorded - let's see if the recordings match. I have yet to see if my personal belongings are still mine or picked through.

Because I just found out my car wasn't in the state Westlake took it from.
My cell phone records and conversations can be pulled, my email can be 3rd party scrubbed - just as yours. Your employees condescending attitudes and their sheer ability to never tell you the same information twice and call other employees liars is some Grant Cardone training. When calling about my car after release I was told I received a certified letter of intent on 8/11 - I am still waiting for the manager to call me back with that signature. Westlake made no attempt to contact me after my initial payment arrangement, before stripping my car, before sending it 3 hours away.

They were intentionally trying to cost me more money and inconvenience my life to show me who the boss was and to try to flip my car again. I have 1 year left to pay and the resale has gone up $2k in the last 2 months. The last email I have from Westlake before they repo'd my car- a normal account balance email. I have received no paperwork from them - no reinstatement paperwork after the "repossession/release".

It is very fishy and I am reaching out to other agencies and legal representation. BEWARE - I would have chosen a bus pass.

Not going to happen YOU BOTH AGREED to be responsible for the repayment of the loan. The only way that would happen is if you suddenly have stellar credit or a very large amount down.
